The music video for Ek Weet Al Lankal brings together two of Afrikaans music’s most recognisable voices, Demi Lee Moore and Bobby van Jaarsveld. Set within a minimal warehouse environment, the video is built around a striking visual concept where the two artists stand back to back while the camera moves in a slow, continuous 360 degree rotation around them as they perform.
The simplicity of the setting allows the emotion of the duet to take centre stage, creating an intimate and cinematic performance. The controlled pacing and uninterrupted movement draw the viewer into the connection between the artists, giving the video a timeless and focused feel.
CoolerBox Brothers developed the concept and handled the full technical production, including cinematography, filming, lighting, editing, colour grading and sound design. The video was executed as a one take sequence, requiring precise coordination between camera, performers and crew.
The production extended into the early hours of the morning, with multiple rehearsals to perfect the timing and movement. The sequence was performed around ten times, with the final video using the second last take as the strongest and most seamless version.
To create the illusion of band members appearing and disappearing within the frame, performers had to move continuously behind the camera, running between positions in sync with the rotation. This behind the scenes coordination added a layer of technical complexity while maintaining the clean, uninterrupted look on screen.
The result is a refined and visually compelling music video that balances simplicity with technical precision, allowing the performance and emotion of the song to remain the central focus.
